Chicago Bears Week In Review: Bears vs Seahawks

49518784 300x212 Chicago Bears Week In Review: Bears vs SeahawksWhat I Predicted:
Week 3: @ Seattle (FOX) The Bears start the weak portion of their schedule with a 3pm start at Seattle. Even with TJ at receiver, the Seabirds don’t have enough to match the new look of the Bears offense. Bears 30, Seahawks 13.

What Happened: Bears 25, Seahawks 19
I found myself making the trek from Packer country to Chicago on Sunday which game me an opportunity to listen the always-informative pre game broadcast of 780 WBBM. This game me a chance to weigh the expectations of Bear Nation, they were quite high with 7 starters out, one of which was their quarterback Matt Hasselbeck.

T.J. Houshmandzadeh spiced up the week leading up to the game by running his mouth saying this to the Chicago media “Jerry Angelo probably didn’t think I could play, so I’m going to show him Sunday” Talk is cheap.

Quest field is one of the toughest places to play in the NFL and you saw a team in duress early on but Jay commanded his troops, this is made more impressive when you consider the lack of running offense that the Bears have displayed thus far in 2009.

Matt Forte had another pedestrian effort failing to score a touchdown for the third straight game. When it is all said and done I believe this new offensive line will mesh before the first snowfall.

Let’s keep in mind that the Defense did not look good today against the pass and Tillman’s attempted strip of the ball lead to a Julius Jones touchdown early on, Seneca Wallace looked like a world-beater whole setting a career high for completions at 26.

We are starting to find the identity of this team; so far they have been resilient.

Cutler’s miserable Chicago debut two weeks ago became further forgotten when he completed all three of his passes on Sunday’s decisive drive. The third was for 36 yards to Devin Hester with 1:52 remaining, rallying the Bears to a 25-19 victory.

The Lions won for the first time since 2007 on Sunday, the Bears face them at home next week and should be in a great 3-1 position going into their bye week. They face Atlanta in a big primetime matchup in week 6. Breath easy bears fans; Jay seems to be the real deal.
